Panama Shipping

The Panama Shipping (Private) Limited is a liability entity that was started by a team of professionals with wide experience and knowledge, with a view to providing professional shipping and ancillary services to ship owners and operators.

 

It has been duly incorporated under the Companies Act of Sri Lanka No. 17 of 1982. And, been granted a license by the Ministry of Ports & Shipping, Colombo, Sri Lanka to carry on a business as a Shipping Agent in all Sri Lankan ports. The Company is looking forward to gaining Agency rights for ships of foreign companies, as they are well qualified to handle such Agencies, and we will also welcome any proposal for collaboration.

 

The company's mainline function centers around the following fields of activities:​

• Supplying Ships Crew

• Supplying Bunkers/Provisions

• Handling Casual Callers 

 

Earlier Business was carried out by the company under G.N.S. Shipping (Pvt) Ltd.

 

The Company is led by a team of shipping professionals with a proven track record and who can provide excellent services in any shipping activity.

MR. ERNEST FERNANDO:

CEO / Managing Director,

 

who is the motivating force. He has over 25 years of shipping experience, having worked in Japan, and he is the former mayor of the Urban Council. Presently one of the members and the opposition leader in the said Council. With the wealth of knowledge and experience behind him, he is ideally suited to lead a dedicated team.

MR. PRASHAN DANAN FERNANDO:

The Director of the company.

 

Mr. Prashan Fernando is the Treasurer at the YoungShip Sri Lanka from 2021 to 2023. He graduated from the University of Kingston London with a BSc in Computing & Business and an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Birmingham City (UK). He is presently the Secretary of the YoungShip Department in Sri Lanka. He oversees overall company operations.

MR. ERIC FERNANDO:

A Director of the company,

 

he oversees Business Development. He is a former officer with more than 20 years of hard-earned sailing experience in all matters relating to shipping, and allied fields. he spends most of his time in Australia & Canada.

VEERGIN FERNANDO:

​

He has a background of decades of experience sailing as an officer. He was the Director of Operations at Hellenic Maritime in Sri Lanka since 1988. He is presently in charge of Crew Management.
